After running our Community Contribution Contest for two weeks, we would like to announce our lucky winner. We had some great new members sign up, who have all helped out greatly in making this community grow, and we thank you all. We hope you all still stick around to help SCZ flourish in the future.
Without further adieu, AfroFire has been named our winner for the contest and will receive 2 free tickets to this years BlizzCon event. His contributions helped out greatly with the success and activities we have seen so far here at SCZ. Congratulations AfroFire!
But wait!! SCZ has received an addition one ticket for a lucky SCZ member to win! We thought we would keep this a secret until the end and announce the winner for this now. We have taken the top 10 most contributive members here on the forums and randomly selected one to receive our final ticket of 3.
Venrae, get your bags packing too! You have been drawn for this third single ticket.
** Winners please contact me (xxkylexx) immediately via PM with the FULL NAME of those that will be using your ticket(s). This name must be exactly as it appears on your official ID. If you have not contacted me by tomorrow at 12pm (noon), we will have to give your ticket(s) to someone else.
We hope you all enjoy this year's BlizzCon. I wish we could give a ticket to everyone, but unfortunately that isn't possible.

If you're interested in game development and have abundant art, design, or programming skills -- as well as a true passion for gaming -- then Blizzard currently has several opportunities available for you to play a part in creating StarCraft II, the ultimate competitive real-time strategy game. The StarCraft II development team is now looking for talented people to fill the following positions:
All of these positions (as well as many more for other teams within Blizzard) can be found at www.blizzard.com/jobopp. We're looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Category: StarCraft 2If you think you've got what it takes to produce the ultimate melee map, step right up. If you don't think you can do it in 24-hours, please, step down. This is no task for the light of heart. It will be challenging -- but if you come out on top, you'll be taking home straight cash. It's the easiest 50 bucks you'll have ever made.
The rules will be posted on July 2nd (Monday) @ 11:59 p.m. P.S.T. (this is when the contest starts) and will run through Tuesday, ending on July 3rd @ 11:59 P.S.T. The winner will be judged by SCZ member AfroFire. Reviews will be written out for each entry received (kind of like getting your homework graded by your teacher) and the winner will receive the prize of $50.00. The winner will hopefully be announced here on the SCZ Forums by the coming Saturday, July 7th -- though it depends on how many entries are received.
Payment will be provided through PayPal. If this is unavailable, a check could be provided.
We will open up an IRC channel as well on the night of the event, so those interested can come in and chat while they work. If questions arise, AfroFire will be available at times to answer.
Good luck to all! We'll see you Monday at midnight.

Karune has posted his forth edition of the community Q&A over on the Battle.net forums. This Q&A was especially interesting as we learn that there will be a new resource type in the game.
"Are the yellow minerals shown in the trailers harvestable? Yes, they will be a harvestable high yield resource, meaning each harvest rotation will result in greater mineral quantities than the standard blue minerals. This gives players more strategic choices when trying to evaluate where they wish to expand. Expand to the high yield but risk easier discovery? Or expand to a safer area but earn fewer resources? "
"Will resource sharing be allowed between allies? Yes, it is our plan to have this in the game, though there is still much testing and balancing revolving around this ability."

The StarCraft 2 official website has been updated with information on a new Protoss unit, the Colossus.
"The towering colossus is a Protoss robot design dating back to the bloody conflicts of the Kalath Intercession. It strides across the battlefield on four tall, slender legs which give it an extremely high level of mobility. The great height of the machine allows it to step up and down cliffs and other steep elevations with little difficulty, and gives it a dominating field of fire."
The SCZ Unit Information Page as well as the Gallery have been updated to reflect this newly discovered information.
To read more about this unit, visit the official StarCraft 2 website.
