BlizzCast Episode 2 Released!

BlizzCast Episode 2 has finally been released and has doubled in length from the their first episode. In this episode, Chris Metzen and Geoff Goodman give is greater insight into the development of their franchises and the new Magtheridon's Lair that will appear in the latest World of Warcraft 2.4 patch.

We have doubled the length of our second BlizzCast at the popular request of the community, which will begin with an in depth interview of Chris Metzen, our Vice President of Creative Development and creator of our original Warcraft, StarCraft, and Diablo storylines. In addition, Geoff Goodman, one of our World of Warcraft Designers will be elaborating on Magtheridon's Lair changes in Patch 2.4, which includes new itemization changes.

StarCraftZone - February 27, 2008

Today, we have a few newsworthy items that should find some interest among many of you fans out there. First up is Rylin's latest wallpaper creation, "Infinitum War", which carries a striking background amongst the space battle going on between the Protoss and Terran forces.

Lastly, the Sons of War team have been hard at work on their hugely ambitious mod. Showing no signs of slowing down, SgtHK and ITSTORRASQUE4U have released a few development shots that are nothing short of amazing.

Karune Q&A Batch 31 Released

The latest Q&A has surfaced and unveils a new Terran unit, the Jackal! Similar to the Vulture, this carries a rail gun that does 'area of effect' damage in a straight line towards enemies. We also learn how drop pods are created and Terran "Veterancy" is now for use only in the single player campaign. Click the image to read on!

Karune Confirms Zerg Speculation

Battle.net - February 21, 2008

In a recent reply from Karune on a battle.net forum post, he does in fact confirm that the alleged Zerg unit is that of the Ultralisk. He goes on to say in a later post that the unit has undergone some changes and to expect more on this and the Zerg soon!

Karune: 

Nice find ;) This IS the new Zerg Ultralisk and you will be learning more and seeing more of it relatively soon. Also, the purple coloring shown on the Ultralisk's back are team colors and will change accordingly.

Also, I wanted to add that this is not the final version of the Ultralisk, as there is more visual work that has already been done on it, as well as new gameplay features we are testing on it.

Leaked Zerg Images?

WoW Insider - February 20, 2008

WoW Insider somehow managed to snag what looks like the in-game model of the Ultralisk, which must have come from a recent convention, ie., GDC. If this is fact the ultralisk model, I can't wait to see what else is in store for the Zerg! A photo was also snagged of the Zerg UI menu, though a bit hard to see the finer details. Check em out!
